Gecko Factor: Back to stage On the 14th of February, SGA organized an annual music competition for junior and student talents called Gecko Factor resembling the well-known X-Factor show. I was performing as a soloist with my band The Sweet Chains. We were performing a song I love Rock'n'Roll by Joan Jett. Fortunately, this performance did not bring us any surprise as the previous one did during the Gala concert. An interesting fact was that we did not actually have time to practice much before this event. Therefore, this performance was quite risky. However, even though, I think, we could do even better, we did not have any obvious mistakes, which is a unquestionable progress! We filled up our 'piggy-bank' of our experience. We did not win this contest but I was not even upset as I do love singing and especially rock songs. We had fun, enjoyed performing together, had an opportunity to show how we can do it and this is the best award. Hopefully, audience liked

Event Crew: SAISA GIRLS' BASKETBALL 2014-2015 During the first week of February I was involved in an event crew of SAISA Girls' Basketball 2014-2015  as the tournament was held at my school - OSC. The tournament lasted for 3 days during which my friend Charlie and I were taking pictures, sorting and uploading them into the system. We stayed at school from early morning till the evening.  This was sort of exhausting. There were around 8 games every day. Our responsibility was to take pictures of each match and preferably of each player and to edit some of these photos as soon as possible. While some teams were playing, ot

COAST TO COAST Between January, 26 and January, 31, ten- and eleven -graders went for Week Without Walls trips. There were several options to choose and I have decided to choose the cycling trip called Coast to Coast. I think our trip was undoubtedly the most intense trip out of all others. On the 26th of January, our group departed from school to Arugam Bay which is located on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, i.e. the opposite coast of Colombo. I can highlight three important and remarkable aspects of our journey. First, we had an opportunity to investigate the local manufacturing and its sustainability; second, we visited Tamil local school in Komari; and third, we cycled and cycled really a lot – uphill and downhill and uphill and uphill. On the first day of the trip we cycled to the small treacle producing factory where we were shown the mechanism of producing treacle out of sugar cane. Workers at this factory told us about their work and the importan
