BASKETBALL SEASON 2015-2016: Overview For the ASA Block 2 I sighed up for Gecko Athletics basketball sessions. First, I wanted to further develop my basketball skills from the last year. Second, I wanted to prove myself that I can make the team this year.  As these sessions were targeted at  selection of a traveling team that will participate on the international tournament Basketball  SAISA 2016 at Lincoln School in Nepal, they were frequent and intense. We have been practicing 4 times a week and sessions were from 1.5 to 2.5 hours long. This year most of the highly skilled and experienced players who used to be on the team year before left the school. This way, our coaches Tharindu and Kelly started training with the group of relatively inexperienced  amateurs. Therefore, they started our training from the basic command terms, ball handling, dribbling, lanes and different types of plays (offensive and defensive). In the process of training, many of the team members including me

The Gala Concert 2015 ♫ ♫ ♫ This year I tried on a different role. Instead of performing, I was an usher helping people to find their seats and helping the performers at the backstage. It was interesting to be part of the management team and see performers before going on stage pumping themselves up and relieving the stress. It was like looking at myself last year. It was relatively a new experience for me as before that I was only part of the sport event crew. I was doing as much as I could to make this event smooth and flawless. LAST CHRISTMAS WE GAVE THEM OUR HEARTS ❄❤❄ The 17th of the September was the day of early Christmas celebration for our service group. Parents of one of our group members, Sanuj, in cooperation with the school and service mentors, Mr Lambert Knott and Mr. De Silva, organized a beautiful Christmas party at the local luxurious restaurant, Water's Edge. It was full of surprises and adventures.  First, we were invited to the lawn terrace on the ground floor of the building with a beautiful view on the lake. Everyone were given wineglasses filled with juice. All together we explored the area and had a joyful and fun time playing and taking photographs with the winter Christmas decorations on the soft lawn carpet. Then, we went all the way down to the lake to have a ride on a floating restaurant. While riding we have seen natural as well as urban sites, played games and just simply talked to each other. All of us including service group members and mentors were just as entertain

VISITING THE SOS VILLAGE ESTATE On 26th of December our service group had a trip to SOS Village. The trip was full of new experiences such as looking around the area and visiting one of the households. It was my second time there. Thus, I was quite familiar with the organization and lifestyle maintained at the Village. However, for most of the members of our service group, it was a new experience. After we arrived there we have been shown the grounds and different departments and facilities provided at the place. Even though I have visited this SOS Village before, it was my first excursion on the entire territory. Before that, I only read about the facilities provided at this organization. This tour gave all of us an idea what is SOS Village is indeed about. After we finished observing the area, we were invited to one the households, a family unit at SOS Village. It was exciting to experience the environment in which these children live. The children and their "mother&quo
