CA S : Service semester reflection   The service for the first semester is complete and finally I found time to concentrate and write a thoughtful and insightful reflection at this stage. During the semester meetings our service group was doing many activities with children from SOS Village such as swimming, playing computer games, English writing, drawing etc. To begin with, I would like to tell general information about the SOS Village organization and its activities . The first SOS Children’s Village was founded by Hermann Gmeiner in Tyrol, Austria, in 1949. As a child welfare worker, Gmeiner saw how children orphaned as a result of World War II suffered. The Gala Concert     The 4 th of December was a special and exciting day for many students in OSC including me. We had been preparing for this day during all the semester. The Gala concert is certainly one of the most interesting and engaging events during the academic year. This year’s Gala concert was especially exciting for me as it was also my first official and serious performance on the stage – a kind of a debut. I was performing as a singer both as a front man and a background singer. I performed with girls’ voice group several times which was led by Mrs. Duncan and once as a soloist of a new rock band The Sweet Chains . That was the first performance of our band. MY FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP At the end of the previous month, school was temporarily empty because of SAISA Volleyball. Two teams 10 girls and 10 boys were practicing hard for 3 months before this event. Finally, bags were packed tickets and visas were ready we were inspired and full of hope. Girls' volleyball team departure on 28th of October at 23:45 straight to Mumbai. Tournament started on the 30th of October. On the first day of tournament we had an opening ceremony and presentation of teams involved. That was really exciting and impressing. That was my first SAISA and my first official championship. Eight teams from different countries took part in this tournament. Many of them looked so professional and experienced so it was scaring in the beginning but then I used to it. One interesting thing is that I was much less nervous during SAISA than during the tournament with local schools in Sri Lanka. MY CAS GOALS During the next 2 years of IB Diploma program I must be organized and hardworking.  So I have outlined some goals to succeed: Targets for achievements: - improve my English language skills;  - improve my volleyball skills and get into SAISA Volleyball team;  - improve my basketball skills and get into SAISA Basketball team (hopefully); - learn how to play football; - learn how to play guitar; - learn how to communicate with children, try myself as a tutor (SOS Village);   - find and join good dance school (or crew) with professional and dedicated dancers (trainers); Targets for self-education and self-development: - improve my time management, be able to organize my time rationally and not be exhausted all the time; - be more self-confident; - 'murder' laziness; - be more sociable and collaborative.
